The Caleb Tarleton Memorial Regatta at Sail Sand Point had lots of fun, short courses and light air racing that would make Caleb proud. The breezes came from different directions all weekend, from zero to 12mph (well briefly). It was enough to have many short races that was great practice for starts and mark rounding.
We had a beautiful sunny and warm Saturday, Sunday was a bit cloudy in the morning, burning off to a sunnier and warm afternoon. Most importantly there was NO RAIN! “At least it’s not raining” being a common refrain. Saturday after racing we had a fun gathering with hamburgers and hot dogs and stories. A majority of us locals gathered after awards on Sunday at Magnuson Brewery for some dinner and beverage, as we watched the northerly thermal finally fill in (timing ever impeccable). Thank you to Jack (Killalea) and Jennifer (Hoag) for pulling it all together, and John and Della Hoag for handling race committee, with Bob Combie and Will Nelson handling mark sets.
